High Wall AC

High-wall split air conditioners, commonly known as hi-wall ACs, are a type of ductless system that consists of two main components: an outdoor unit (compressor/condenser) and an indoor unit (air handler). They are called “high-wall” because the indoor unit is typically mounted high on a wall, allowing for efficient air distribution.

How Hi-Wall ACs Work:

  1. Indoor Unit: The indoor unit takes in warm room air and passes it over coils containing refrigerant. The refrigerant absorbs the heat, cooling the air, which is then recirculated back into the room.
  2. Refrigerant Cycle: The now warm refrigerant is pumped to the outdoor unit.
  3. Outdoor Unit: The outdoor unit releases the absorbed heat into the outside air. The refrigerant cools down and is sent back to the indoor unit to continue the cycle.
  4. Thermostat Control: The entire process is controlled by a thermostat, which maintains the desired temperature set by the user.

Features of Hi-Wall ACs:

  • Inverter Technology: Many modern hi-wall ACs come with inverter technology, which allows the compressor to adjust its speed to maintain the desired temperature, leading to better energy efficiency.
  • Air Purification: Some models include air purification filters to improve indoor air quality.
  • Remote Control & Smart Features: They often come with remote controls and can have smart features like WiFi connectivity for remote operation via smartphones.
